Yo!!!Yesterday, i went to the supreme court. It was so damn cool. I went to the new one first where we were given a tour on the history of S'pore's courts, their robes ( ceremonial n for normal court appearances), they also have their law "textbook" on the shelf to show us though we can't read. The books are horribly thick. The size of 1 book is slightly bigger as compared to my science text book and they've got like bout 10 of them to memorise.XD After that we went to the old supreme court. In there we went to the "loading bay" of the prisoners, followed by the prison cells where the criminals await for their trials. In their cells, they only have a bench to sit on and a toilet bowl. The flush is not in the cell but out of the cell. U noe y? Coz they afraid the prisoners will commit suicide. We were also shown the area where criminals talk to their layers, the area where the trial takes place. We were allowed to walk around the court room sit at the lawyers' seat, judges', the witness stand and also the criminal's seat. We then went to c the court justice private office, his private lift (those extremely old ones) n carpark. We were then brought to the main hall where we were shown the first tile that has been placed, and we were told that a time capsule, containing some newspapers n old coins, was burried under it n it will only be taken out in the year 3000. =O I will try to put the pictures up when i get them.
Anyway sam, kah eng didnt reply my sms so... ... i dun noe if he noes bout the outing. Sad i can't go along but i hope we can meet up sometime soon mayb on like national day?? =P
